Trust our experience and love for teaching and providing therapy for kids with autism or development delay.
Life after a diagnosis of autism is the beginning of a journey that we will be happy to support you on. At our daycare, we provide specialist developmental therapy and will teach your child communication and social skills and helping them to deal with motor planning and self-regulation issues.
For more than 20 years, The House of Development has been teaching children with special needs, especially those who have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum, ADHD, and other learning disabilities and difficulties. We have been helping them with learning strategies and compensating for the missing stages in their development.
In 2019, our educational program was awarded the Reader’s Choice Award.
Our infants and toddler classroom has a general schedule that includes time for the following:
Indoor child therapy
Snacks and lunch
Structured and unstructured play
We appreciate the important role routine plays in developing a sense of security for young children, which is why our set schedule is followed daily. Our wonderful and dedicated teachers plan out stimulating and challenging learning experiences every week that are based on emerging interests they observe among the children in the class. Our student-centered curriculum puts an equal emphasis on learning through free play, social and emotional education, inquiry, and basic higher-order thinking skills for children of all ages.
Daily Care Report
iCare sends out detailed descriptions of your child’s day in our care directly to your inbox.
Your child will receive the equivalent of 15 weekly (individual, group, supported) therapy hours every week from a speech therapist and occupational therapist, along with music/art therapy and the Floor Time/Miller Method.
Educational Support Services is our special early intervention program that features a full range of support services for younger children. The program is part of the approved private Early Childhood Services that were established by Haimove Amir, the owner, who himself is a well-established clinician and educator.
All of the Educational Support Services teachers on our team are highly qualified and trained to work with children with a variety of special needs. They are further supported by a full team of registered therapists and Ontario certified teachers/ECE.
Before we can accept your child onto our program you need to follow the admission steps outlined below:
Your child’s diagnosis
A report from an occupational therapist
A report from a speech therapist
A report from a Miller Method of Floor Time Therapist
Your child’s IEP
If you do not have any of the documents, please contact us for an intake meeting.
The next step in the process is a parent’s meeting with our owner. Please note, your child has not to attend this meeting.
If you pass the first two steps in our admissions process, your child will be invited for a week in our daycare. This will allow our team to meet your child and observe them and decide if they are a good fit for our daycare.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
